A country of huge contrasts, South Africa will be on many people’s lists of destinations to visit.

It’s a destination I fell in love with and will always be drawn back too.

Cape Town offers fantastic beaches, Table Mountain National Park, sophisticated restaurants and, of course, the chance to visit Robben Island to see the prison where Nelson Mandela was held for 27 years.

The Western Cape also offers the chance to explore some of the world’s best wineries.

But South Africa offers so much more. From Johannesburg, the urban capital, to beautiful Durban besides the Indian Ocean. Discovering the spectacular scenery of the Eastern Garden Route, the beauty of the Three Rondavels rock formation on the edge of the Blyde River Canyon, to spotting lions, leopards, rhinos, elephants and buffalos – known as the “big five” – in Kruger National Park or whale watching on the Western Cape, South Africa has something for everyone.
